He will rock you! Celebrating its 25th anniversary, A Knight’s Tale returns to cinemas in a triumphant new 4K restoration.
Peasant-born William Thatcher (Heath Ledger) begins a quest to change his stars, win the heart of an exceedingly fair maiden (Shanynn Sossamon) and rock his medieval world. With the help of friends (Mark Addy, Paul Bettany, Alan Tudyk), he faces the ultimate test of medieval gallantry – tournament jousting – and tries to discover if he has the mettle to become a legend.

“My Lords! My ladies. And everybody else here not sitting on a cushion!”
Heath Ledger. Jousting. Paul Bettany. Golden Years by David Bowie. Kate the female blacksmith. Anachronistic costuming. What’s not to love?!
A Knight’s Tale was one of my favourite films growing up and it’s held dear to my heart over the years for its comedy and strong messaging about how wonderful things can come from humble backgrounds. Kicking off with a strong rendition of We Will Rock You, this Medieval romp is full of music, love, laughter and brilliant costumes with an all-star cast including the perfect villain – Rufus Sewell.
“You have been weighed. You have been measured. You have been found wanting” (to see this film…)
If you’ve seen it before you know what a good choice this is. If you haven’t, I’m glad to share it with you all. Enjoy!
