Stumbling out of a funeral, a man returns to a farmhouse on the ragged edges of the countryside where he grew up. He finds himself staring out at a duck pond that used to be an ocean, Lettie Hempstock's ocean. And at once he is plunged back into the nightmarish events around his 12th birthday...
We follow Boy's story of the first friend he ever made, of fear and uncertainty, of warm porridge that tastes like home and sickly-sweet lodgers, of boxing gloves and white lies and hands that refuse to let go, of otherworldly creatures and memories sewn together.
Presented by Warwick University Drama Society and The Drama Collective, Ocean at the End of the Lane is a tale that blurs the lines between disturbing fantasy and harsh reality, brought to life in the studio through puppets and stark physical theatre.
