A sterling adaptation of Nobel Prize winner Kazuo Ishiguro’s debut novel, which unfolds in the shadow of the Nagasaki bomb.

Desperate to understand her family's past in Japan, Niki (Camilla Aiko) asks her mother Etsuko (Suzu Hirose) about her time in Nagasaki. Through flashbacks, Etsuko recounts the tale of a friend she knew long ago.... Spanning two timelines, A Pale View of Hills is a poignant story of loss, exile and the generational impact of war and tragedy.
