Robert Pattinson gives a dark, fully dialled in turn as To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen in Lance Oppenheim’s terrific A24 thriller.
In 2006, Chris Hansen (Pattinson) made TV history. As host of controversial true crime series To Catch a Predator, he set up sting operations devised to entrap and expose child predators on camera. The buzzy fiction feature debut of Lance Oppenheim (Some Kind of Heaven), Primetime promises to be a fascinating exploration of this morally dubious terrain, with Pattinson’s capital-A performance backed by Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo and singer Phoebe Bridgers.
