Contemporary songwriting meets folklore as Warwickshire musician Ellie Gowers unveils her latest project, Dwelling By The Weir.

With the restrictions that 2020 brought, Ellie explored the rich history of the local area and has since evolved these narratives into song. Her inspiring venture took her to the most northern point of the county, and back down to the most southern, painting a balanced portrait of Warwickshire that touches on themes of home, belonging, love and loss, and industrialisation.

Joined by Emily Dore and Lukas Drinkwater, tonight's concert is a Dwelling By The WeirExclusive Preview Show, with attendees able to pick up a copy of Ellie's debut album before it's officially released later this year.

Signed to Farcourt Music - home to such acts as Jim Moray, Lucy Ward, and University of Warwick alumni Kitty Macfarlane - Ellie was born, raised, and still lives, in Warwick. She recently composed the score for Warwick Arts Centre and BBC Radio 3's Middlemarch Monologues, a collection of new monologues inspired by George Eliot's masterpiece which premiered in March. She also recently completed her first UK tour, opening for Blair Dunlop.

After seeing Ellie support Cosmo Sheldrake in November, as part of Change Festival 2021, we had to get her back for a very special headline home town show. A Warwickshire star in the making.
