An online grift has IRL consequences in Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s captivating genre experiment.

Yoshii (Masaki Suda) makes money reselling anything he can flip online to make a profit: Buy low, sell high – that’s all there is to it. At first his shady schemes are successful, but then a series of unsettling incidents reveals that someone out there is seeking vengeance – and soon, Yoshii’s in a desperate struggle for his life. Cloud is a masterful, freewheeling internet-age thriller from Kurosawa, the acclaimed director of Pulse and Cure.
