No need to book, just drop in!
Every Sunday between 3 May - 21 June, from 1.30pm until 4pm.
Join our family artists every Sunday for time to be creative as a family and have fun.
We’ll explore key themes and processes in our programme such as spoken word, music, movement, performance and circus, with opportunities for you and your little ones to perform if you like.
We’re thrilled to announce our Artists for Summer 2026 are Matt Shaw and Janeel Brown. Read below for more info about them and their workshops!
The Artists
Matt Shaw
Matt Shaw describes himself as a ‘collaborative space maker’ with a playful and creative curiosity towards materials and technology. He is interested in creating empowering spaces through the use of simple everyday materials.
About Matt’s workshops
How do we make a caring object? What materials make us feel safe? How do we create a holding space? Through creative sessions with the artist Matt Shaw, we will explore these questions using materials and ideas inspired by the work of Daiga Grantina.
Janeel Brown
Janeel is a drama facilitator and creative practitioner behind Vybe Drama, a play-based approach that helps young people build confidence, express themselves, and be creative. He has experience working in both SEN and mainstream settings, delivering fun, inclusive sessions using drama games and improvisation to create safe, welcoming spaces for everyone.
About Janeel’s workshops
High-energy, music-led physical drama and play experiences for families where both adults and children explore, respond, and create together through drama, movement, play, imagination, and interaction.
Workshop Dates, Times and More Info
Matt Shaw - 3 May: Wrapping
Explore the act of wrapping and covering using a range of materials. Experiment with wrapping small objects, larger items, furniture, and even each other. Materials include tissue paper, white paper, and tape, alongside draping, hanging, and covering techniques.
Janeel Brown - 10 May: High Energy / Silly Movement
A fast-paced, music-led session full of bold, playful, and ridiculous movement. Families are encouraged to jump straight in, exploring exaggerated actions, playful interactions, and shared moments of chaos and laughter. Led through demonstration, there’s no pressure and no right or wrong way to take part.
Matt Shaw - 17 May: Connecting
Discover different ways of connecting and joining materials! Individually, with a partner, and across the room. Using paper straws, wool, string, tape, hole punches, and large paper clips, you’ll create links by threading, tying, and building connections.
Janeel Brown - 24 May: Miming, Transforming Selves, Space & Things
Step into an imaginative world where bodies, objects, and the space around you are constantly changing. Through music-led demonstration, families explore miming, shape-shifting, and creative play. Transforming the ordinary into something unexpected in a fun and accessible way for all ages.
Matt Shaw - 31 May: Space Making
Create your own space to be in! somewhere to shelter, feel safe, and explore. Work with corrugated paper, brown paper rolls, cardboard sheets, and pegs, with opportunities to draw and personalise your space.
Janeel Brown - 7 June: Emotion Playground
Enter a playful environment where movement and music bring emotions to life. Families are invited to explore clear, physical expressions of feelings. From joy and sadness to high-energy excitement! Responding to each other and the space in imaginative and engaging ways.
Matt Shaw - 14 June: Sharing
Focus on making for others. Create objects to give away, shifting the purpose of making towards sharing and connection. Use a variety of craft materials, including leftover materials from previous sessions.
Janeel Brown - 21 June: Suspense and Anticipation
A playful, high-energy session where tension builds and anything could happen. Through music-led movement and interaction, families explore moments of waiting, reacting, and surprise! Stretching time, building excitement, and playing with the unexpected together.
