Studio Ghibli master Hayao Miyazaki returns with the beautiful, enigmatic The Boy and the Heron.

12-year-old Mahito struggles to settle in a new town after his mother's death during the Pacific War. When a talking grey heron informs him that she is still alive, he enters an abandoned tower in search of her and finds himself in another world.

A mature and complex masterpiece, The Boy and the Heron weaves together Miyazaki’s past, present and future. It’s a beautiful, enigmatic film and a fitting (potential) swansong.
