The Tempest is a story of dreamlike magic, beauty, and intricate human complexity in equal measure.
Centred on a remote island the play portrays the resolution of years of betrayal, pain and mistreatment, that have isolated its central characters from each other, society and at times themselves.
The play centres itself around the characters and their interactions with the islands’ inhabitants, we encounter the themes of forgiveness, acceptance, grief, loss, and anger.
The story also doesn’t shy away from the cruelty of human nature, or the shadows that we must confront; not every character is granted a perfect resolution.
This is a student show presented by The Drama Collective.
