Four timeless stories brought to life in one delightful show. 

Dive into Eric Carle’s bright and colourful world as his beloved stories are transformed from page to stage, using a menagerie of 75 lovable puppets and charming music. Featuring your favourite titles: Brown Bear, Brown Bear10 Little Rubber DucksDream Snow and of course, the star of the show, The Very Hungry Caterpillar which celebrated its 50th Birthday in 2019. 

Created by Jonathan Rockefeller, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Christmas Show is a vibrant celebration of Eric Carle’s adored classics and the perfect introduction to live theatre.

Schools Performances

Mon 13 - Thu 16 December

Tickets are available to the public now for our schools performances from 13 - 16 December. Tickets £12.50 adults / £10.50 children. Please note you will be seated amongst school parties and all tickets are unreserved  Please book them in the usual way - the only difference to later performances is that you cannot select your own seat in advance.

Free Creative Activities

Sat 18 and Sun 19 December, 10am- 2pm

Join artist Benny Semp in our foyer for free, family making workshops. Drop-in to create your own paper puppets, from flapping butterflies to crawling caterpillars.

Familiarisation Session

Taking place on the day before the relaxed performance of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Christmas Show, a familiarisation session offers audiences the chance to explore the space at their own pace. Visit the Arts Centre, stop off in our Chill Out Space before heading into the auditorium where the lights will remain on to find your seat and explore.
