Community Choirs Callout:  Community Spirit  Programme 2022

Community Spirit is a programme run by Black Voices in partnership with Warwick Arts Centre and B:Music which offers local community choirs in Coventry & Warwickshire the opportunity to share repertoire between choirs and perform as a collective of massed voices in a concert at Warwick Arts Centre in July 2022. Any community choir is welcome to take part in this annual event and we encourage all choral music genres from classical, pop, rock, gospel, folk, reggae and barbershop.

What will participants gain? 

• Joy and shared purpose in celebrating the power of singing together
• Improved wellbeing and associated health benefits
• Pride in their choir and in performing at Warwick Arts Centre

What will choir leaders learn? 

• Enhanced skills in leading their choir and massed choirs, supported by other choir leaders and professionals
• Increased confidence in their own abilities
• Wider exposure to a varied range of repertoire and musical styles
• Opportunities to try new things and to be supported by other choirs through that process

What is the commitment? 

• One rehearsal per month at Warwick Arts Centre between January and June 2022:
• One performance at Warwick Arts Centre in July 2022
