If you’re visiting Warwick Arts Centre with children, you’ll find everything you’ll need for a fun day out. Whether it’s to watch a family show or film, see an exhibition or to take part in free family activities, find out all you need to know about getting here, where to eat and what there is to do.

Getting to Warwick Arts Centre

There are plenty of ways you can get here. You can reach us by car and you’ll find plentiful, reasonably priced parking on our campus, but it is just as easy to take public transport, or even to bike here using routes like the Kenilworth Greenway for part of your journey. You’ll find plenty to see on your cycle in and there are several secure bike racks right next to Warwick Arts Centre.

Being located on the University of Warwick campus, we are well connected by public transport and the bus terminus is right outside the arts centre. Local bus services run regularly from Coventry, Leamington and Kenilworth. If travelling from further away, Coventry train station is only a 15-minute bus journey away. Free term-time activities

For an inspiring and free day out, be sure to have a look at our free family activities that regularly take place and are suitable for a range of ages. Getting creative is a great way to connect and have fun as a family.

During school term times, on Tuesdays, we have Mini Creatives sessions that focus on music and storytelling for babies, toddlers and their grown-ups. Then we have Family Sundays which have artist-led activities with drop-in creative workshops taking place every week, and each month we have Musical Picnics that cover everything from beatboxing and folk to brass band and jazz. We also have Family Singing sessions, so be sure to take a look at the family what’s on calendar and save the dates.

Family shows and cinema

All throughout the year you’ll find plenty of live performances, and family-focussed events and films at Warwick Arts Centre.

Children and grown-ups will love the range of theatre shows and productions we stage, including shows based on well-known books and characters such as The Gruffalo’s Child, Disney Princesses and so much more.

Our cinema screens screen regular family favourites too, from the newest blockbusters to classic movies that you can rediscover together.

Food and drink

A big part of a family day out is making sure little (and big) tummies don’t get hungry. Whether you’re seeing a show, visiting the cinema or joining in with a creative workshop, you don’t have to travel far to find great food options.

Within Warwick Arts Centre itself we have two restaurants; Benugo and Panda Mami. Benugo offers a great choice throughout the day from snacks and coffee to dinner and cocktails, while Panda Mami offers an all-you-can-eat Asian buffet.

Directly across from the Arts Centre, you’ll also find a Pret A Manger and Co-op store so you can grab what you need to satisfy all tastes.

Accessible facilities

We want everyone to be comfortable and be able to easily navigate around Warwick Arts Centre. That’s why we work hard to make sure our building is as accessible as possible. Our theatre spaces have accessible seating and wheelchair spaces, and our cinema screens are all accessible via a lift. There are also accessible toilets and a Changing Place located in the building.

For those visiting with our youngest guests, you’ll find baby changing facilities in both the male and female first floor toilets, located in the Hall concourse beside the Theatre.

Explore the outdoors

When visiting campus you can also make the most of the University of Warwick’s spectacular grounds and discover a trail with over 20 sculptures.

The Sculpture Park takes you around woodland, meadows and fields to find a range of unique sculptures the whole family will enjoy, including two giant steel dinosaurs!
