Mother’s Day  at Warwick  Arts Centre

Posted
Friday 1 March 2024

With Mother’s Day 2024 approaching, it’s time to think of unique ways to show your mum just how much she means to you. This year, instead of the usual gifts like flowers or chocolates, why not plan a memorable day out instead?

If you’re looking for things to do in Coventry for Mother’s Day, here are some wonderful experiences at Warwick Arts Centre you can treat her to:

Indulge in a Special Meal

Head to Benugo Bar and Kitchen located in the foyer entrance, where they're offering a delectable set menu for Mother’s Day.

Treat your mum to a fabulous meal crafted by skilled Head Chef Christopher Pell (formerly The Savoy, London).

Choose from a 3-course option for £30 or a 2-course option for £25, both of which come with a complimentary glass of Prosecco or Elderflower fizz for mum.

Explore the Art at the Mead Gallery

Visit the Mead Gallery and explore the Phantom Sculpture exhibition, which ends right after Mother's Day. Featuring significant works by renowned artists past and present, along with contributions from emerging artists.

This exhibition promises an insightful journey through contemporary art. There’s also an opportunity to get creative at the Making Space, where you both can create your own sculptural responses to the exhibition using prompts made by our Family Artists in Residence.

Welcome to all and completely free of charge, it’s your chance to discover your inner artists and make your own mark.

Family Sundays

If you're celebrating Mother’s Day with young children, Family Sundays at Warwick Arts Centre are perfect for a fun and creative experience.

Drop in between 1.30pm and 4.00pm for creative workshops led by the talented duo Hipkiss & Graney. It’s an opportunity for the whole family to engage in various artistic activities and have a blast together.

Musical Picnics

Join Musical Picnics at 11am for an interactive family performance featuring a diverse range of musicians, musical styles, and cultures. It's a delightful way for families to bond with mum over music and entertainment.

Visit the Cinema

Grab a bag of popcorn because we have a great selection of Hollywood blockbusters and foreign features for you and your mum to enjoy this Mother’s Day.

With options like Dune: Part Two, Lisa Frankenstein, JFTFP24: Undercurrent, and Shoshana, there's bound to be something you’ll both enjoy. This year, give your mum the reins and let her choose the film for that truly special Mother’s Day experience.

Live Classical Music and Discussion

For the classical music enthusiasts, the University of Warwick Symphony and Chorus will present two halves of wonderful, yet contemplative music at 4pm

Experience the magic of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique followed by Matthew Coleridge’s moving Requiem. There will also be pre-show talk with composer Matthew Coleridge at 3pm in Butterworth Hall to explore deeper insights into the music.

Live Folk Music

Round off the day with a captivating performance by folk music legends Mike McGoldrick, John McCusker, and John Doyle at 7.45pm. Enjoy their masterful blend of folk songs, tunes, and warm camaraderie.

With their impressive musical repertoire and stage presence, this trio promises an unforgettable evening for you and your mother on her special day.

For things to do this Mother’s Day, create lasting memories at the Warwick Arts Centre, where there’s something special for everyone.
