Planting Roots Programme: Foleshill Community Centre
Warwick Arts Centre, Feeding Coventry and The Warwick Institute of Engagement have teamed up for a special programme of activities called Planting Roots.
Running over the summer, the Planting Roots Programme is about coming together as a community, engaging with our environment and sharing knowledge. Planting roots, taking up space and growing together.
The activities will focus around Foleshill Community Centre’s Garden and the new Medicinal Garden at Foleshill Community Centre, all while cultivating new connections with inspiring artists and academics from the University of Warwick.
Workshops at the Community Centre will explore nature, wellbeing, sustainability and how we can make positive changes together. Events will be advertised through Foleshill Community Centre’ social media channels.
With the aim of helping people to feel empowered to make a difference in their own lives and the local environment, Planting Roots is a project that is about coming together in unity, through care and sharing knowledge.
In the spirit of this, talented artists and researchers will join with Foleshill’s community in an exchange of ideas, inspiration and knowledge, and create a space where ideas can grow.
How can we take care of our planet and our communities? What does a better future for our communities, society and environment look like?
Expect a celebration event, open to all on Saturday 4 Nov at Warwick Arts Centre - more details on this will be coming soon!
Planting Roots - Growing Together: Let’s learn, respond, and change together. We’ll grow step by step, one workshop at a time.
