Young Producers Recruiting Now!
Young Producers is a free training opportunity for Coventry-based 16-22 year olds to find out more about making arts events happen delivered by Warwick Arts Centre and China Plate. We are now recruiting a new cohort of Young Producers for 2022 alongside 2 x Project Facilitators to help deliver the programme!
Young Producers Participant Recruitment
Through a mixture of intensives and evening sessions our Young Producers gain insight into what it takes to put on arts events – project planning, budgeting, marketing, project delivery and evaluation. They also hear from professionals across arts organisations and see work. They then create and put on their own event!
A great opportunity to develop employability and interpersonal skills, whilst being creative, working with new people and taking the lead in producing an event alongside professionals within the current UK arts scene.
Participant applications are now open for our second Young Producers programme taking place between January to April 2022.
- Are you aged 16-22?
- Are you passionate about music, dance, drama, poetry or art?
- Are you interested in finding out more about making these events happen?
- Do you want to put on your own events?
Yes? Join our Young Producers programme!
No experience is necessary – only an interest in performing arts and ideas for exciting events!

I absolutely loved it! Gaining practical experience by actually putting on an event has been life-changing. I didn’t know what a producer actually did before I started the programme and now I want to be one.
Young Producer 2020
Young Producers Project Facilitator Recruitment
China Plate Theatre and Warwick Arts Centre are seeking to appoint two Project Facilitators to plan, deliver and evaluate Young Producers 2022.
Young Producers is a free grassroots talent development and training programme supporting young people aged 16-22 from Coventry and Warwickshire to identify producing skills and use them to programme their own festival.
The two roles will work closely together throughout the programme, however they are defined by: Arts Lead and Pastoral Lead.
The Arts Lead will be responsible for creating the course content, structure and resources. They will be the lead facilitator in sessions and guide participants to conceive and deliver the Young Producer's Festival in April 2022.
The Pastoral lead will be responsible for supporting participants to enhance and harness their full potential during the programme, acting as the main point of contact throughout. They will also support 2-3 young people who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET) by providing weekly mentoring as well as supporting them to complete a Bronze/Silver Arts Award.
Young Producers will run from January – April 2022, with planning taking place between December 2021 – January 2022.
Our recruitment process is open to all, but we are particularly keen to hear from applicants who may have faced racism, discrimination and/or cultural barriers due to their ethnicity, disability or D/deafness, as these groups are currently underrepresented in our team and the wider theatre sector.
If you are interested in these roles, please visit China Plate's Opportunities page for more information, including details on how to apply. Applications close midday, 17th November 2021.
