Ken Loach’s seminal TV drama brought British homelessness into the light.
Arriving in London, Cathy (Carol White) sets up home with Reg (Ray Brooks). With a baby on the way, money is tight and when an accident costs Reg his job, it sets them on an inexorable slide into homelessness. A tremendously important British screen work, Cathy Come Home set Loach up as one of our most determinedly political filmmakers and an unswerving champion of the working class.
