In today’s America, political polarisation finds librarians under siege in Kim Snyder’s tense, gripping documentary.
In 2021, an unprecedented wave of book bans began in Texas, soon spreading further nationwide, with officials removing titles with racial or LGBTQia+ themes from library shelves. Vulnerable librarians were (and continue to be) targeted. Kim Snyder’s gripping, vital documentary traverses the US, interviewing the librarians and everyday Americans turned defenders of democracy and free speech.
Post-screening Film Talk
A panel discussion will follow the documentary. Speaker details to be confirmed soon.
