5 Cinema Highlights for June 2024
Summer has snuck up on us, but we’ve been working hard to bring you a June to remember on the big screen.
Sasquatch Sunset
Sasquatch Sunset (from Fri 14 Jun) is a quirky, hilarious and poignant journey, in which we follow a family of Sasquatches as they travel across the misty forests of North America.
With beautiful visuals and an almost therapeutic score, this is the greatest Bigfoot story put to film.
Kinds of Kindness
This stylish, black comedy weaves three absurdist and macabre stories, with the same cast of actors for each including Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons and Willem Dafoe.
Kinds of Kindness (from Fri 28 Jun) sees Yorgos Lanthimos reconnect with screenwriter Efthymis Filippou, this film’s distinctive style harkens back to Lanthimos’ earlier work, such as The Lobster and Dogtooth.
The Bikeriders
A nostalgic trip to a bygone era of American history, The Bikeriders (from Fri 21 Jun) is an exhilarating full-throttle drama starring Austin Butler, Jodie Comer and Tom Hardy.
A revved-up love triangle with effortlessly cool performances that call back to James Dean and Marlon Brando, these guys may seem tough but there is a beating heart within this film.
Pride
We are happy to be bringing back Pride (Fri 14 Jun only!) for its 10th anniversary!
Balancing between heart-warming and heart-breaking, hilarious and intense, Pride is a well-crafted call for solidarity.
With an all-star cast including Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, George MacKay, Andrew Scott and Paddy Considine.
Riddle of Fire
Riddle of Fire (from Mon 17 Jun)fully inhabits a child’s view of the world, rendering it vivid, dreamlike and full of possibility.
Feeling both original and nostalgic, this truly unique odyssey is an enchanting feature debut from directing sensation Weston Razooli.
