Autumn is here at Warwick Arts Centre! As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, our programme is packed with lots of laughs and incredible events to brighten up your October. If you’re looking for the best things to do in Coventry this October, we’ve got you covered.

Lots to laugh at this October

The doors of the Arts Centre will be welcoming a whole host of comedy faces during the month so you’re sure to find someone that’ll tickle your funny bone.

If you’ve watched any UK comedy show over the last few years you’ll be familiar with the comedy talents of Chris Ramsey: Here, Man!, Maisie Adam: Whatsherfac, Lucy Beaumont Live: Bad at Quiz Shows, Good With Weirdos and Phil Wang - UH OH.

And that’s not all, with plenty more options to choose from including Al Murray: All You Need Is Guv!, a combination of Arab, Muslim and Brummy humour with Hasan Al-Habib: Death to the West (Midlands), purely unscripted, unplanned comedy from Kane Brown: Crowd Work King and new material with Susan Calman: Tall Tales.

Family shows and events

Get ready for a dinosaur adventure like no other as the Natural History Museum presents Dinosaurs Live! Journey through the different prehistoric periods and see life-like dinosaurs come alive right on stage.

Dermot O’Leary’s best-selling children’s book character, Toto, is being brought to life on stage in Toto the Ninja Cat and the Great Snake Escape. Toto is no ordinary feline, as she has incredible ninja skills and a nose for adventure in this family musical that features original music, laugh-out-loud fun, and extraordinary puppetry.

October also sees the return of many of our free family events. For our young visitors and families, Family Singing, Family Sundays, Musical Picnics, Let’s Dance! My First Concert and Mini Creatives will all be taking place giving you a chance to sing and be creative.

Discover interesting talks

Explore the spectacular evolution of space travel with Tim Peake as he shares remarkable stories of space exploration in Tim Peake’s Astronauts: The Quest To Explore Space Tour. If nature is more your thing, Chris Packham’s World of Wonder: A Planet on the Edge will be an evening alive with discovery. Hear untold stories and see extraordinary specimens from Chris’s own collection.

Discover the Tudors as you’ve never seen them before with historian, broadcaster and bestselling author Tracy Borman: Tudors on Tour or listen to Michael Palin: In the Philippines as he tells the story of one of his most ambitious journeys yet.

And there’s still plenty more talks, words and ideas this month.

Autumn cinema

A near unrecognisable Tom Cruise takes on the role of Digger, the most powerful man in the world who embarks on a frantic mission to prove that he's humanity's saviour before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything. From Oscar-winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s (Amores Perros, The Revenant), this satirical black comedy features a terrific ensemble cast including Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller and Jesse Plemons.

For your viewing pleasure we also have irresistible new take on Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, and a return to the world of Facebook in The Social Reckoning.

You can also choose from a couple of 35mm film screenings this month and towards the end of October there’ll be a range of Halloween films available, including a classic family friendly film about a ghost who just wants a pal!
