Autumn is here at Warwick Arts Centre! As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, our programme is packed with incredible events to brighten up your October. If you’re looking for the best things to do in Coventry this October, we’ve got you covered.

Laugh out loud with live comedy

If you’re ready for a night of laughter, our comedy programme has some of the UK’s funniest performers live on stage this month. 

Start the season with the hilarious COBO Comedy Shutdown, then enjoy the razor-sharp wit of Omid Djalili: Namaste. Ria Lina’s Riabellion brings bold new comedy to Coventry, while Myra DuBois: Cosmic Empath delivers her trademark wit and charm. 

And for a fast-paced whirlwind of punchlines that keep you laughing all evening, Glenn Moore: Please, Sir! is not to be missed.

Cinema and Films You Can’t Miss

For fans of film, Warwick Arts Centre’s cinema programme this October is full of variety, perfect if you’re planning what to do in Coventry this weekend or looking for a cosy evening out.

Charming, wistful, heartbreaking, hopeful and urgent. Palestine’s official entry to the 2025 Academy Awards, From Ground Zero , brings dozens of emerging Palestinian artists to the fore in an urgent cry for humanity from a people under siege. Feel nostalgic with Laurel and Hardy in Animal Crackers.

If you like surprises, there’s a Mystery Film screening with the film undisclosed until showtime. NT Live: Mrs Warren’s Profession and NT Live: Inter Alia brings theatre to cinema screens in a powerful broadcast. And for something utterly cinematic, Radiohead x Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror reimagines a classic silent film with an immersive soundtrack.

Music to lift your autumn evenings

There’s no shortage of live music in Coventry this October, with concerts and performances to suit every taste. 

Enjoy a FREE performance at Heroes and Villains, or experience the iconic sounds of John Williams brought to life by The Cory Band. Step back in time with Imagine Lennon, or unwind with the smooth sounds of Jazz Fridays.

Music lovers can also look forward to The Van Morrison Alumni Band, the joyful Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain’s 40th Anniversary, and timeless classics from The Billy Joel Songbook. Plus, don’t miss acclaimed singer-songwriter John Grant and Irish sensation Nathan Carter for unforgettable nights of live music.

Family fun for half term and beyond

Half term is the perfect time for family adventures, and our family programme has something for all ages. Get creative together at Family Sundays or let little ones explore sensory play at Mini Creatives

Older children can step into a world of storytelling at The Story Forge: Make Your Own Myth, while the whole family will love the music and fun of Nick Cope – I’ve Lost My Bobble Hat.

For younger audiences, Claytime is a playful and imaginative show, while Pirates Love Underpants is a laugh-out-loud family favourite. If you’re searching for things to do in Coventry with kids this October, Warwick Arts Centre is the perfect place to start.

Dance and theatre shows in Coventry

Enjoy watching Strictly stars performing in Legends of the Dance Floor, or discover the captivating world of OKAN. Shakespeare takes on a new life in We Caliban, while dazzling acrobatics fill the stage in Cirque: The Greatest Show (Reimagined).
